A2 Second Gotthard tube

As there are no suitable options in close proximity to the construction site, the Canton of Uri is implementing compensatory measures in the Göscheneralp Valley with the financial support of FEDRO. These measures are based on a landscape development concept.

The Göscheneralp Valley leads from Göschenen and over the Göscheneralp all the way to Lake Göscheneralp. The valley is home to a variety of habitats worthy of protection, including lower-moor and raised bogs, dry pastures and meadows as well as alluvial zones. The flora and fauna found in the Göscheneralp Valley include numerous endangered and even protected animal and plant species. Thanks to its unique landscapes, idyllic mountain scenery and the wild waters of the Göschener Reuss, the Göscheneralp Valley is a popular hiking area
