The final concrete cladding of the tunnel vault and the false ceiling are being constructed using a mobile formwork. They form the ceiling and walls of the road area. The ventilation duct for the removal of exhaust air is located above the road area. A complex, electronically controlled system regulates the ventilation depending on the traffic situation and prevents the spread of smoke throughout the tunnel in the event of a fire.
Raised verges are situated on both sides of the carriageway. These serve to secure the lane, on the one hand, and provide an escape route, on the other. One of the verges also contains a slotted channel for draining water used during operations and cleaning as well as extinguishing water deployed in the event of a fire.
